If You Would Like to Hear This Record

Because of various problems with public blogs and rights problems, I have decided to take my blog and convert it to a private email. If you’d like to listen to this album (and more) or any other album I am posting here, just send me your email address at radiovickers1@gmail.com and I will put you on my list. Along with this album, I have a gigantic archive of my vinyl digitizations that gets added to every week. I do them myself and de-click them. Most sound pretty darned good, if I do say so myself.
This is not some come on. Just caution on my part. It costs nothing and there’s nothing to join. Just an email address. I have about a hundred people on my list at the moment. Come and join the musical fun.

The vinyl was in good shape and this really turned out nicely.  I quite liked the album.  Some of the lyrics are a little drippy (ie: Friday the 13th Child) but overall, good stuff.

This vinyl was really crackly and clicky.  It cleaned up remarkably well.  You can certainly tell it's vinyl but for the most part its excellent.  (Expecially considering the age)  The music is a little strange coming from a guy like Johnnie Ray.

The vinyl is from 1957.  Considering that, it is in fantastic shape.  Do I hear the odd smudge here and there? On headphones, yes.  But not much at all.  No real distortion on his vocals and they bellow out.  This is a winner piece of vinyl.  The songs are a lot of fun.  Pretty-Eyed Baby sets the tone.

This was quite clicky.  The de-clicker did a great job.  I don't hear much of anything and I'm listening on headphones.  The album besides the obvious hit, is quite enjoyable.  Mr. Gilder adds a little something to any song he sings.

The shape of this vinyl, considering its age, is amazing.  There are a few minor imperfections but very, very small.  No real distortion, and I'm listening on headphones.  One of my oldest 33's and in damn fine fetal.

The vinyl was pretty scratchy when I got it but it has cleaned up nicely.  It's very clean sounding now.  This is a pretty rare record.  I had to take the picture myself because I couldn't find one on the web.  You can find almost anything on the web these days.  Alan has a pleasant voice and soldiers his way through the covers and also sings five originals.

Wow, the quality of pics on the Internet for this album are shitty.  Fortunately, that does not apply to my copy of this album  It sounds great.  I think the theme of the album is somewhat risible considering that Pat Boone seems to be the prototype for a Chicken-Hawk. The title song is cute enough is a jingoistic sort of way.
